Disney Food Adventures: Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’

When I travel anywhere, my favorite thing to do is eat. I’m not a foodie by any means, but I love food… especially good food!

So naturally, when I visit to my happy place, there is typically some kind snack in my hand or plan for where I will be dining next.

Oddly enough, one of my favorite meals I’ve ever eaten throughout my Walt Disney World exploration has actually come outside of the theme parks!

Back in 2021 — our most recent trip, crazy, I know — Tori and I were looking for something kid friendly to accommodate our then 1-year old nephew, but still felt a bit more upscale for us.

Enter Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ in Disney Springs!

Sunday Brunch at Homecomin’ in Disney Springs

We made a Sunday brunch reservation and were absolutely blown away.

Don’t go thinking you’ll be able to score a walk-in table though. This restaraunt is in high demand and requires advanced dining reservations early on.

Don’t hesitate with these ones while planning for your Disney trip though, because reservations can go quickly, especially for Sunday brunch.

Chef Art Smith’s Homecomin’ Overview

Spoiler alert: The food was INCREDIBLE!

You can never go wrong with some feel-good, southern comfort food, and this restaurant delivered perfectly.

Before the trip I had only heard good things about others’ experiences here, but even my highest expectations were exceeded.

Homecomin’ Buscuits with Sawmill Gravy

We started the meal with the house biscuits and gravy. These were the highlight item across the board.

Perfectly fluffy and buttery, exactly like you’d want a biscuit to be. The gravy wasn’t overpowering like some can be, with a mild sausage flavor and slight bite.

Homecomin’ French Toast

Tori chose the French toast & fruit with a potato gratin mash.

Aesthetically, the dish looked beautiful and tasted just as good. It’s hard to miss on French toast, though, if you ask me.

Homecomin’ Hallelujah Biscuit

Naturally, I was more adventurous and opted for the Hallelujah Biscuit: an open-faced biscuit topped with fried chicken, over easy eggs, pimento cheese, pecan-smoked bacon and smothered in sawmill gravy.

All I can say was it was absolutely to die for! Perfect flavor combination across the board.

Homecomin’ Kiddos Meal

The kids meal wasn’t anything to write home about and as basic as you can get: Two eggs, a choice of side, fruit and the buscuit.

Depending on the kid, this can be a lot of food.

In our case, this was definitey too much for a 1-year old… but we weren’t complaining about picking at what wasn’t eaten.

Especially the extra biscuit!

There are so many places to eat at and around the Walt Disney World Parks, but I will definitely be hard pressed not to make Homecomin’ a regular stop while visiting.
